
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is at par with the latest technological developments. CEDC is a Community Extension Developmental Cell functioning in the Department. Its objective is to extend our knowledge and resources to the community at large. The first Project, Societal Technology Education Programme (STEP) is a joint venture of the Department of Computer Science and C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advance Computing), which aims at imparting computer literacy to all age groups in the society. The Cell is functioning fully fledged with support from the college management, the faculty from C-DAC and the department. The department intends to make a higher impact by involving participation of all interested students from within the department.
Project Mission
To empower the youth in rural communities with computer education which includes knowledge in computer programming and desktop publishing and technical skills in computer engineering such as installation, assembly and repairs. By providing education, job, technical, entrepreneurial and leadership skills to community members, the project aims at reducing poverty and illiteracy.
