The Department of Food Technology at Amal Jyothi offers a B.Tech in Food Technology with an AI-integrated curriculum. Our "Smart Food Systems" approach weaves food science, processing, sustainability and Artificial Intelligence across every semester — preparing future-ready food technologists for processing industries, quality control, product development, startups and research.
The food processing industry is vast and versatile, and it provides promising career opportunities for young engineers. To work in this industry, one has to learn the detailed knowledge of food science and earn a degree in the field. In India the food processing industry is gaining momentum — the segment of consumer foods is witnessing a remarkable growth which has necessitated the need for qualified and trained personnel in the fields of food processing, analysis, packaging, preservation, storage, distribution, safety and cold chain management.
Considering this, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering has introduced the Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, which offers students education and training on a scientific basis and closely related to practice. Our courses are designed to expand understanding of the biological, microbiological, chemical, physical, sensory, nutritional and engineering properties of foods and beverages. We offer a comprehensive undergraduate programme that prepares students for leadership positions in the food industry, food research, academia, government — and as entrepreneurs running their own food industry units.
