Food Technology

Food processing industry is very vast and versatile, and it provides promising career opportunities to the young generation. But to work in a food processing industry, one has to learn and acquire the detailed knowledge of the subject and earn a degree in the field. In India the food processing industry is gaining momentum as the segment of consumer foods is witnessing a remarkable growth which has necessitated the need for qualified and trained personnel in the fields of food processing, analysis, packaging, preservation, storage, distribution, safety and cold chain management. Considering this Amal Jyothi College of Engineering has introduced the Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology which offers students education and training on a scientific basis and closely related to practice. Our courses are designed to expand understanding of the biological, microbiological, chemical, physical, sensory, nutritional, and engineering properties of foods and beverages. We offer a comprehensive undergraduate program that prepares and makes the students fit for leadership positions in the food industry, food research, academia, and government. On completing graduation, the students will also have developed enough skill and confidence to plan, organize and manage entrepreneurship to open food industry units of their own. This program also will help in the transfer of research-based information and technology to consumers, farmers, food and beverage industries, and government agencies to enhance the availability, quality, and safety of our food supply ensuring a healthy and abundant supply of food.
