About the Department
B.Tech Chemical · M.Tech Environmental · Ph.D
The Department of Chemical Engineering at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering (Autonomous), established in 2013, has consistently focused on academic excellence, research, innovation and industry-oriented learning. The four-year B.Tech programme provides strong fundamentals in material & energy balance, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, transport phenomena, reaction engineering, process control and plant design — integrated with emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, process simulation, sustainability and Industry 4.0.
The department is supported by 11 faculty members and 3 laboratory staff. Industry MoUs with Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd. (KMML), Kollam and SynergenOG (December 2025) strengthen internship and consultancy opportunities, and the IIChE Students' Chapter provides regular technical events, seminars and industry networking.
